Yoav Schutzer, born in 1994 in Israel, is a conceptual artist working in the fields of installation art and new media.
Yoav’s career began in 2018 with the founding of “ANTI” as an artistic brand or pseudonym, under which he has since exhibited his own artworks, primarily in the field of light and spatial installations.

While his approach up to 2020 and prior to his immigration to Germany was mainly aesthetic, his themes shifted after the move. He began to reflect more on his past life in Israel and his current life in Germany, engaging with social structures and the digital world, while experimenting with new forms of presentation, as seen in works such as social suicide and Why am I what you are telling me that I am.

Since 2023, Yoav’s artistic focus has been on reflecting on his family history, which he first learned about at the age of 26 after moving to Germany. He is currently concerned with themes of collective narrative, personal history, and memory culture in both the German and Israeli contexts.

In the project Instruments of Broken Dreams, an experimental musical, he addresses untold stories from the Nazi era within his own family, thus focusing on the past. The project Ein totes Schaf bringt man nicht zum Metzger is an ongoing artistic self-reflection on his childhood, growing up with a photojournalist father during times of war and political instability, experiences that continue to inscribe themselves into the present. With Why does a stone in Ramallah deviate from its path, he seeks to develop a view toward a possible future.
